A Millennial Family's Review of a Room in the New Orleans Marriott

The New Orleans Marriott hotel is an exceptional location for families and working professionals who are traveling to New Orleans, Louisiana for a vacation or for a conference.

This hotel also has an "M Club Lounge" which is one of my FAVORITE Marriott Lounges in the world! Yes, I can say the world, because we visited our first Marriott Lounge outside of the United States this summer.

Even if you are not a Marriott Rewards member, this lounge is an incredible deal because it provides breakfast and dinner! Yum!

The rooms are amazing, because they offer spectacular views of the street below. It is a great way to see the city at a glance without actually having to leave your room.

This video offers a view of a typical room at the New Orleans Marriott.

Have a great week and plan for the weekend!

The Residence Inn is definitely meant for millennial travelers and their families to truly relax, connect, and unwind! Our family experienced the Residence Inn in Tyler, Texas!

The Residence Inn in Tyler is the BEST location for families in the East Texas area. If you are planning a family vacation...choose RI Tyler, if you are planning a staycation, choose RI Tyler! It has everything that meets the multigenerational travel needs of your family! Grandparents, parents, and the grandchildren can fall in love and engage with one another at this unique hotel!

Tucked at the end of Broadway street in the middle of a neighborhood, is a travelers dream - the Residence Inn hotel. It has a large lounge area downstairs that transforms from a hearty breakfast area to a mid-day lounge and then a trendy bar lounge area in the evenings!

Speaking of the evenings - each room features a weekly calendar on their refrigerator. This calendar includes an amazing schedule with a daily theme!

Monday's - It's On
- You can start the week off right with snacks, sips and good conversation!

Tuesday's -  Off the Grill
- Get fired up. Better yet, let us do it for you. We're grillin' and chill' with cold beverages.

Alternating Wednesdays - Mix It Up
- Get a taste for the local vibe with great food truck fare, restaurant pop-in tastings or sweet finale to your day.

If you are visiting the hotel on a day that is not highlighted above, you can stop by the front desk at anytime to get the scoop on their favorite spots and what is going on around town!

One of the most important aspects for our family is CONSERVATION! They are focused on helping the each thrive! Also, you can bring your own earth-friendly laundry detergents (our favorite is Seventh Generation) to wash your clothes in the coin operated laundry machines downstairs.

Here are the Top 10 Reasons by the Residence Inn Tyler is the best hotel for families!

1 - It is next door to the Carmike 14 Movie Theater!
*It has GREAT popcorn!

2 - It is 1-2 miles away from an outdoor mall - The Village at Cumberland Park!

3 - Target is only MINUTES away! You can travel to Target by traveling a side street by turning left from the hotel. Ask the front desk!

4 - The Waterpark by the Villages in around 20-30 minutes away, but it is a GREAT indoor Waterpark!

5 - An abundance of restaurants in the area! We've tried - Spring Creek (great seafood), Cheddars (wonderful homestyle food), a great themed Whataburger restaurant, and a dynamic Zoe's Restaurant!

6 - There are BOOKS for your family to READ downstairs!
*This is one of our favorite things to do while cruising - visit the library! At the RI Tyler, you can find a library downstairs!

7 - Each room features a refrigerator and freezer! It is great for storing your groceries from Target AND any leftovers from a restaurant meal.

8 - Breakfast is AH-Mazing and it features vegetarian friendly options!

9 - There is a FOUNTAIN in the parking lot of the hotel! The fountain is also color coded - which is great for teaching colors!

10 - Each room features a sleeper sofa! This is great for families who want to travel with the children!

Our Stay at the Las Vegas Marriott!

When you visit Las Vegas, Nevada, consider staying at the Las Vegas Marriott!

The hotel is not on the Strip, but is a 5-10 minute walk from the Monorail and Las Vegas Convention Center.

Since the hotel is not on the Strip, it's very quiet when it's time to relax.

Here are some pictures of our room!

Corpus Christi is a Great Quick Trip for Texas Families! #traveltexas #CorpusChristi

A few weeks ago, I discovered a VERY cheap airline fare on American Airlines from DFW Airport to Corpus Christi, TX. Each ticket (my self, my husband, and baby girl) averaged $130 per person. My little one has not had the chance to travel via air since last fall when we traveled to El Paso for a weekend away.

New Hotels in the #Marriott Brand - Three Hotels We Would Like to Visit!

Our family is always interested in NEW HOTELS by the Marriott brand. We have not had the pleasure of visiting a hotel outside of the United States, but we are planning to do so this year!

Making Our Weekend Count at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort - Pictures of Our Room!

During our recent stay at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort, we had a wonderful room with a great view!

We received an upgrade for our stay and our room was absolutely beautiful! I will have to admit that this room was one of the most beautiful hotel room that I have seen in my travels so far! I have to admit my little one does not care if we have a small or a large hotel room, she enjoys the room and the interior of the hotel (especially the pool and the lobby).

Making Our Weekend Count at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas - Our Search for the #GreatPumpkin

This weekend we had a chance to visit the JW Marriott resort in San Antonio, TX while visiting the in-laws! One of the primary reasons for visiting the resort was to (of course) make our weekend count! In addition to the primary reason, we wanted to see the much anticipated #GreatPumpkin in the lobby at the resort. This vegetable/fruit was definitely a great attraction for families and couples! EVERYONE had a picture with the Great JW Marriott Pumpkin.

North Texas Staycation @ the Gaylord Texan! Experiencing Texan Summerfest!

This weekend, we decided to travel from south Fort Worth to Grapevine to spend a few precious hours at the Gaylord Texan! Exciting!

As soon as we arrived, the attentive staff checked us in and we encountered a TALL TEXAN (a man dressed as a cowboy on stilts). It was the total greeting!

Thank You #Marriott! - FREE Breakfast EVERYDAY! #Yum

Hello from Texas!

I am a huge Marriott fan, because I like their hotels and their customer service is impeccable! As a result, I try to select a Marriott when I have to travel in-state and out-of-state.

Yes, I was very excited to receive a Google Alert focused on a new perk in the Marriott Rewards program! FREE BREAKFAST on weekends for platinum and gold guests!

According to the news release..

Yes, you read correctly - FREE BREAKFAST! I am too excited! According to the Marriott website (2013)...

"It's a fresh perk for Gold and Platinum Elite Marriott Rewards members: Starting June 22 we will offer free continental breakfast for 2 at JW Marriott®, Autograph Collection®, Renaissance® and Marriott Hotels® across the U.S. and Canada* – every day, 7 days a week. When the concierge lounge is open, you and a guest can enjoy complimentary continental breakfast.

And there's more on the menu. Any time the lounge is closed, you'll have a choice of continental breakfast for 2 in the hotel's restaurant or 750 points.** Outside the U.S. and Canada you will continue to enjoy daily complimentary continental breakfast. So be watching for this delicious benefit. We're serving up good mornings, free and easy for you.

I am very excited about this perk and I like the Marriott-based meals in the restaurant. #Yum!

Their omelets are always amazing and the best buffet I have ever had was in the St. Louis Marriott! :)

Summer Bucket List (Item 1) - Visit the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, TX

One of my favorite resorts in Texas in the JW Marriott Hill Country resort in San Antonio, TX. I was so excited when I heard that the resort would open in Texas and I was more excited when I knew about the children's activities that would be offered at the resort!

Texas Holidays - Christmas at the Texas Horseshoe Bay Resort

This Christmas, our family decided to visit the Horseshoe Bay Resort in Horseshoe Bay, Texas. My husband and I had been to the resort a couple of times for New Year's and Christmas, but this time we decided to invite my parents, my in-laws, and our newest edition... Baby Girl!

The drive is 2 and 1/2 hours from home and we arrived around 3pm. Our rooms were ready and we had a swift check-in. When we checked in, I was greeted with a whistle from the parrot in the lobby (Joseph) and a sweet glance from the Betta fish on the front desk (one was placed at each station). Pure bliss! As rewards guests, we received an upgrade and we were placed in the James Bowie Suite! Thank Goodness for James Bowie, because the suite was amazing! We had a wonderful view of the pool from our balcony and a wonderful seating area.

Alex (at the front desk) was amazing and we visit many Texas hotels and resorts throughout the year and she has one of the best attitudes and focus on customer service that I have seen this year!

The Spa at the Horseshoe Bay Resort!
We booked the Relaxation Package which included: a) SPA treatment and b) Breakfast Buffet each day.

Christmas at the Horseshoe Bay Resort...

Each day was just like Christmas...right before Christmas Day! The resort was decorated impeccably and the music throughout the lobby set the mood for the holiday! The first day, we were handed a schedule and it was filled with amazing activities each hour!

Dining at the Resort...

The food was outstanding! The daily selection ranged from biscuits and gravy to smoked salmon and a selection of delectable fruit.

On Christmas Eve, we were reluctant to pay $34 per person for the meal, but this selection was definitely worth the price! Wonderful entree selection: salmon, quail, prime rib, and my favorite... truffle mashed potatoes.

The dessert selection was fabulous as well!

By the way, the dining staff was amazing! Especially, William, Matthew and the staff from Shreveport and New Orleans! I can definitely see them doing great things at the resort!

Christmas at Horseshoe Bay...

On the first day, we walked around the numerous trails at the resort, one of which featured a flamingo, parrots, a puffin, waterfalls, and amazing scenery! Then, we visited the activities center and it was decorated VERY well (including little elves and a tricycle hanging from the ceiling). Something magical happened and Santa appeared! Our family has been on a search for St. Nick since Thanksgiving! We wanted to take an inaugural picture with Baby Girl and Santa and we finally had a chance.

Our Christmas was complete when at the Christmas Eve dinner, we were asked how many children were in our party. We told them one and they delivered a beautiful red stocking filled with crayons and others neat gifts for baby girl to our door! When we arrived back from dinner, the stocking was on the door and I was overjoyed! It made our Christmas complete!

Traveling with a Baby at Horseshoe Bay Resort...

The resort definitely caters to guests with children! Most rooms feature a refrigerator, which is great for snacks and milk! Within a few hours, a pack and play was delivered (with a comforter) to our room. The pack and play was essential for new parents, because our little one is almost walking independently and she loves exploring!

In addition, to the usual hotel visit, this visit featured a reading of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" with Mrs. Claus, milk and cookies for Santa, pictures with Santa, complimentary apple cider and hot chocolate, caroling, and meeting new friends from other families.

Spa Services at the Horseshoe Bay Resort..

This has been a long, but amazing year for me (as a new mom) and I needed a break, so I booked a pedicure and massage. The spa services were absolutely amazing and the pedicure was wonderful! Deborah did my pedicure and she was extremely professional and focused on customer service. Amazing woman! She also teaches a few of the yoga and Pilates classes at the resort - I definitely have to take one of these next time!

We plan to come back next Christmas and I might come back during Spring Break week! Another review!

Sincerely,

@WeekendsCount
